Brief Bio
Yuliya Rashchupkina is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science and is cross-appointed with the School of Climate Change and Adaptation at UPEI. She received her Ph.D. in Global Governance and Human Security from the University of Massachusetts Boston in May 2019. She obtained a Master’s degree of Public Administration from the University of Nebraska Omaha in 2012 and BA in Political Science from the East Ukrainian University. Before joining UPEI, she has taught various courses related to climate polices, international relations and international political economy at several universities in USA. Dr. Rashchupkina’s current research involves the political economy of decarbonization, global climate change governance, and links between development and climate change. Her work has been published in American Journal of International Law, Contemporary Politics, Canadian Foreign Policy Journal, and Palgrave Communications, among other journals.
She has experience in designing, coordinating, and consulting the projects on sustainable development, public participation in decision making, and human rights-based approach to education.
