Internships conducted in developing country open the mind of students and provide them with new horizon of professional or academic life apart from exposing them to international issues. The interns once complete their internship at Grassroots Institute excel the excellence of the discipline they deal with.
The Grassroots Institute hosted over 30 qualified Interns from over 15 countries such as USA, Australia, New Zealand, UK, the Netherlands, Spain, Latvia, Germany, Poland, Greece, Switzerland, Colombia, India, etc. Most of Interns worked on specified study or action projects over a period of 4-6 months. The Grassroots Institute provides intensive academic and logistic support to the hosted Interns. Right now the Grassroots Institute has capacity of hosting maximum 5 interns at a time. Interested candidate may apply any time. There is no deadline as such. |

Application Deadline |
The applicants will be selected and admitted every month till the available seats are vacant. When the seats become full, no further application will be accepted. |
Duration |
4-6 months with 20 contact hours per month |
Field Location |
Great Himalayan National Park and Seraj Valley in Kullu district (Himachal Pradesh), and New Delhi with visitation to Western Uttar Pradesh and Punjab |
Language of Instructions & Facilitation |
Language of instructions will be English. However, if somebody speaks Hindi, a translation back up will be provided. The local communities usually speak local language or Hindi or Punjabi. Some youths speak English too. At the time of field visits, a translator or interpreters will accompany. Interns can also learn bit Hindi just to somehow manage the situations. |
Outcome |
Each Intern has to produce a written report of acceptable size and quality at the end of the Internship. The report needs to be composed in MS Word 97 and submitted to respective supervisor. |
Faculties |
The Interns will be directly supervised by the Director of Grassroots Institute and will be co-supervised in the field by the Head of Operations. For technical reasons some Interns may be attached with Visiting/Guest Faculties on the basis of their proposed proposal of Internship. |
Terms & Conditions |
Each potential intern shall agree with and sign the Terms & Conditions of the Internship. On selection, the potential interns will be provided with Terms & Conditions. |
